The job involves preventing and managing risks by monitoring premises, patrolling areas, and ensuring that security procedures are followed. The work can include everything from alarm responses and access controls to reporting deviations and cooperating with the police or other authorities. The customer places great trust in us, and your work as a security guard is important. You contribute each shift to creating safety and security for the customer and society at large, as your work provides preventive protection against crime, improved fire safety, and much more. You will meet all members of the community, and it is important that you are clear, calm, and able to make thoughtful decisions.

Here are some of the most common tasks:

A patrolling security guard works with preventive security. You are mobile and visit customers in your district/area to check that alarms are activated, windows and doors are closed and locked, electrical equipment is turned off, and that no unauthorized persons are present on the premises/area. Supervision is performed both indoors and outdoors, often at night, alone, and you work in shifts. The work is independent and mobile.

In stationary security, you work at the customer's site. This can involve everything from reception work to patrolling and staffing security control centers.

Qualifications

In addition to the personal qualities we seek and describe in the various assignments, you need to meet basic requirements to qualify for the position:

• at least 18 years old before starting the assignment
• high school diploma
• proficient in Swedish, both spoken and written
• driver's license B

You must also be unpunished*, drug-free, have a stable economy, and possess good health and physical fitness to be employed at Avarn Security.

Security guard training is advantageous for these positions. Other advantageous qualifications include experience in the security industry, some technical knowledge, additional language skills beyond Swedish and English, and previous experience working in public environments.

If you have the right profile for Avarn and proceed in the process but do not already possess the required training (VU1, VU2), we will cover your training! Security guard training (VU1, 9 days) is conducted at BYA, the Security Industry's Occupational and Work Environment Board. Participation in this is a prerequisite for employment.
